4. On your own, study the â€œfoodwaysâ€ of your own culture or subculture by conducting individual field research and recording the findings in a field log. You will act as a cultural anthropologist, playing the role of a participantÂobserver. This means that you will take part in a social group and also analyze what you observe. Pick a foodÂrelated activity. Ask permission from your subjects before you start. And be sure to change all subject names in your field log. You do not need to use a special format for the log. a. In your field log, describe the activity, when your subjects do it, who does it, what the subjects say, the questions you ask and your subjectsâ€ answers. Also, answer these questions: i. Why do they do this activity? ii. What can you understand about your subjects based on this activity? iii. What does this activity say about what they value or how they think of themselves?
